McGovern Executive Search (MES) is dedicated to the recruitment of senior healthcare executives on behalf of leading Payer and Provider organizations. The firm was founded by Steve McGovern in 2011. Mr. McGovern's search career spans 24 years. He has successfully managed well over 150 VP through C-level executive searches on behalf of Fortune 500, privately-held, and regional, not-for-profit healthcare organizations.
Partnering with industry leaders, MES forms deep and lasting, collaborative relationships -- mindful that successful search outcomes require a comprehensive understanding of each organization's culture, unique dynamics, mission, and strategic vision as well as each candidate's strengths, motivations, skills, and leadership style. Steve McGovern directs all searches in a hands-on manner that ensures consistency, quality, and urgency while drawing upon a dedicated and seasoned team of research and administrative professionals who further enhance the practice's efficiency and productivity.
Born and raised in suburban New York City, McGovern moved to Washington, DC to attend The George Washington University, graduating in 1997, and beginning his career in the search industry in 2000. He and his wife, Alison, reside in Falls Church, Virginia, just minutes from the nation's capital.
